An Introduction to Energy Healing by Martina Leger
Einstein found that matter and energy are different forms of the same thing, meaning the matter of our bodies (in the form of molecules and atoms) is energy. We are in fact complex bundles of energy. In energetic healing we address the person’s unique complex life-energy system.
We are all driven by a spark of spiritual energy or life force, which energizes the body’s functions through electrical and electrochemical impulses. The body needs coded electrical signals to maintain normal functioning and optimal health.
The energy flow in our body can be either deficient or excessive in particular areas. In an energy healing treatment the "power lines" are balanced to ensure the proper metabolic or electrochemical flow. This is the prerequisite to stimulate our cells, tissues and organs to perform their functions properly. For example in healing of mental issues like depression the proper flow of brain chemicals after an energetic balance results in a balanced state of mind.
Another system in our complex human energy anatomy is comprised of seven major energy centers known as the chakras. They absorb, filter, organize, store and distribute life force energy. Each chakra is also linked to small nerve bundles known as ganglia, which function like little brain centers. They remember and store different emotional events that affect us throughout our life. Like storage units on a computer hard drive, we store different types of emotional memories in specific centers and surrounding body tissues. If the imprint is severe enough it is like a scratch in the disc and the flow of energy can’t get past it. This imbalance can lead to physical or psychological issues.
What causes illness from an energy medicine perspective?
The amount and quality of life energy moving though our seven major emotional energy centers powerfully influences tissue health throughout the body. The chakra energy factor may partly determine why people become ill. That does not mean that inherited genetics, diet, exposure to environmental toxins, pathogenic bacteria and viruses are not important - each of these factors contributes to illness in some way. However the energy flow through our chakras may be the underlying factor that determines the “weakest link” in our bodies and may explain why people are predisposed towards developing certain diseases.
Disturbances in the energy body eventually distort cellular structure and upset normal tissue functioning. The goal of energy medicine is to detect and treat illness at the stage of “energetic information distortion".
How does energy healing work?
Healers direct the flow of energies into the human body and its energy systems to bring about healing changes. A vast body of scientific evidence has validated the physiological changes that occur with energy healing. Science has shown that healings are related to a resonant-field interaction between healer and patient. The healer transmits a “healing bioinformation” that seems to restore the client's previously distorted pattern in the energy field. In lab studies the healing energy seems to possess some innate “biological wisdom” that knows exactly which enzymes to accelerate or decelerate in order to improve cellular metabolism. Once the patient’s bioenergy field has been restructured into a healthier pattern, changes in the cellular patterns of the physical body will bring the body into healing.
Researchers have measured huge magnetic fields emitted by healers during healings, which can positively influence the energy field of living systems. It is sometimes compared to recharging a bioenergy battery.
A chakra cleanse and rebalancing clears the energy of trapped (conscious AND subconscious) negative emotional memories and patterns. Clearing those imprints and re-integrating this energy back into the overall flow of a person's system results in a huge surge of energy that heals and nourishes the proper functions of the body and mind.
